What a Blog Can Do for Your Network Marketing Business

A blog is truly the most important thing a network marketer can have in the 21st century.  While the traditional “talk to everyone you know and everyone you meet” about your business worked in the past – and it does still work for some people – the truth of the matter is that over 90% of people fail at this strategy.

Taking your network marketing business online allows you to reach thousands of people you wouldn’t otherwise reach in ‘real life’.  It also allows you to put your content in front of your EXACT target audience, instead of trying to convince friends, family, co-workers, and strangers that your business and your products are valuable.

When you decide to do network marketing online, however, you have to make sure that you are doing it the right way.  Soliciting friends, family, and strangers on social media will not get results.  People have become experts at ignoring pushy salespeople.

That’s where a blog comes in.  Running a blog allows you to attract your EXACT target audience – people who are already interested in what you have to offer – and to offer valuable content that turn them from prospects into RAVING fans.

Here are the basics of what a blog can do for your network marketing business.

  • Build your email list.
  • Position you as an expert.
  • Create a loyal following of fans and customers.
  • Convert prospects into customers and team members.
  • Do your prospecting for you while you do more important things.
  • Generate leads 24/7.
  • Get motivated, highly qualified prospects to come to you.

Why is a Blog Better than Pushing Your Business on Social Media?

Are you posting about your products and your business and getting no traction with your friends and acquaintances?  Are you tired of sharing things in network marketing groups and getting ignored?  There is a better way to use social media to share your network marketing business and it is not posting about your products and your business, and trying to get people to join your team or buy your stuff.

When people go on social media, or online generally, they are not looking to be sold something.  They are looking for education, entertainment, and inspiration.  They are looking to learn things, and to connect with other people.

Running a blog allows you to cater to this desire for education, inspiration, and entertainment.  The fact of the matter is that while people love to buy, they hate to be sold.  So your job is not to “sell” your prospects on your products or your business.  Your job is to put valuable content that is related to your niche market in front of the RIGHT people and build a relationship with them.  People will naturally buy from you as they come to trust you as an authority in your field.

That is where your blog comes in.  With a blog, you create valuable content that people want to read.  How do you monetize that?  You make sure that your content is related to your niche market.  If you are with a fitness company, then post healthy recipes, 10 minute exercise tips, motivational photos and personal stories, etc., etc.  It you are with an essential oils company, then post DIY kitchen cleaner recipes, write blogs posts about common toxins in dishwasher detergent, in skin care, in laundry detergent, etc., etc.

When you put this content in front of the right audience, and you include links for where to find the products in your stories, in your recipes, etc. then you build a natural bridge for your prospect to take to become a customer or a team member.

Talk to your audience about what they are interested in.  Give them good stuffnot sales.  Then say, “Hey, if you liked that, then here is where you can get the products that you need to do this super cool thing that I KNOW you are interested in.”

Easy, natural, and it gives the impression that the decision to buy is 100% theirs.
